There are so many delicious foods that are great for picnics – roasted corn, juicy watermelon, fresh berries, deep red tomatoes, crispy cucumbers and so much more! Here is a cholesterol-free hamburger to get you started!
Ingredients
1 ¼ dl. (½ c.) soaked garbanzo beans
2 dl. (¾ c.) mushrooms
1 ¾ dl. (2/3 c.) water
¾ dl. (1/3 c.) granulated soy protein
1 ¼ dl. (½ c.) oats
2 Tbsp. chopped walnuts
½ onion, minced
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. sage
1 Tbsp. soy sauce
Instructions
Mix the garbanzo beans and mushrooms with the water in a mixer or with a hand mixer until smooth. Combine with all the other ingredients in a bowl. Allow to sit for about 20 minutes to absorb the water. Using a deciliter-measuring cup, measure four very full scoops of batter and place them directly on an oiled frying pan with a lid. Fry them covered, on the lowest setting possible for 10 minutes on the first side and 15 minutes on the other.
Note: If you don’t have granulated soy protein, you can increase the oats to 2 ½ dl. and they taste great.
Tip: These patties can also be baked in the oven for 25 – 30 minutes at 175°C.
