A special thanks to Christine Baker for this yummy treat!
Ingredients
3 dl (1 ¼ c) hulled sesame seeds
2 tbsp finely ground flaxseeds
2 tbsp cacao powder
½ tsp vanilla powder
A pinch salt
About 9 juicy pitted dates
½ dl (¼ c) maple syrup
coconut flakes
Instructions
Begin with the dry ingredients. Blend them in a food processor until they are a very fine powder. Add the dates and maple syrup and continue blending until you have a thick paste, similar to almond paste. Stop to scrape the sides several times. It will take a few minutes before the paste forms. (The oil from the sesame seeds comes out at last.) Press the paste out in a form. Flatten to about 1 cm thick. Chill for at least one hour before serving. If you like, you can decorate with coconut flakes. Cut them into bite-size pieces.
