Tofu has a neutral flavor, but this easy recipe gives flavor and texture to this protein-rich dish.
Ingredients
1 pkg. firm tofu
1 Tbsp. light soy sauce
1 Tbsp. vegetable seasoning
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. garlic powder
¼ tsp. cayenne pepper, optional
5 Tbsp. water
1 Tbsp. cornstarch, optional
Instructions
Remove excess water from the tofu by pressing the tofu between two plates lined with paper towel and a heavy object on top. Slice the tofu. Marinate for at least 30 minutes. Toss with cornstarch to get a crispier result. Bake on a lined baking sheet at 175° C (350° F) for between 20 – 45 minutes, depending on the size of the slices. The tofu should be slightly puffed up and golden. Eat immediately.
