Are all fats the same or are there some types that are better than others for the heart?
A recent study conducted by Harvard School of Public Health compared the consumption of saturated fat with linoleic acid. Saturated fats are those found in animal products like butter cream, and lard, and are solid at room temperature. Linoleic acid is the fat found in many vegetable oils, nuts and seeds, and is liquid at room temperature. This study found that by replacing saturated fats with oils high in linoleic acid the risk of heart disease is lowered.
So try exchanging solid, saturated fats with the more heart friendly liquid vegetable oils!
