Health Tip

An attitude of Gratitude

This time of year in America many people are thinking about what they are thankful for. Having a spirit of gratitude brings many benefits to one’s self and to those around. There are many studies that mention the positive effects of being thankful. Here are just a few of those benefits:

It helps the mental health of teenagers
It increases a feeling of well-being
It helps you sleep better
It can help to strengthen your relationships and make you a better friend
It helps the heart
It has been associated with an improved immune system
It can help you deal with extreme loss

One of my favorite authors has said, “Nothing tends more to promote health of body and of soul than does a spirit of gratitude and praise.” For our own health and for those around us, let’s focus on all that we have to be thankful for, not just now but all year long.
